Birth and death have been shoved behind the wall of denial for so long that most women are simply terrified of actually giving birth. They are convinced of it when their Dr.s insist their pelvis is too small, the baby is too big, they are low on amniotic fluid, they’ve past their due date, any one of which they can use to scare a mother into complying with a pitocin triggered induction or a planned c section. However, the studies are showing that this  artificial oxytocin is NOT as benign as the real thing, not for the mother or her newborn. Natural childbirth is the gold standard until there is an actual imminent danger to the lives of the mother or baby. This “ life of the baby” card is played too much though and the results are turning out to be negative for the babies. READ HERE

turns out this relatively recent practice robs a newborn of 1/3 of their blood and leaves them iron deficient and susceptible to asthma and many other ailments in later life. This latest study is quite convincing about our need to stop cutting the cord so soon after birth.
